Katz Day, LLC is a boutique business and real estate law firm located in Anne Arundel County. We represent clients in a broad range of transactional matters including business formation, commercial leasing, commercial real estate transactions and land use. Our diverse experience as both attorneys and principals provides us with a unique perspective on real estate transactions and allows us to offer practical counseling to our clients.
David A. Katz
David “Dave” A. Katz, a founding partner of Katz Day, LLC, represents clients in all phases of the real estate development process and in all aspects of real estate related projects, including contract negotiations, financing, leasing, land use, and entity structuring and organization. Dave’s real estate clients include land developers, retailers and builders and developers of retail, industrial, office and mixed use projects.
Dave received the majority of his professional experience as a partner in an Annapolis-based boutique law firm, Mulrenin & Associates, LLC, focusing on commercial real estate transactions, and he began his career with Hyatt & Weber, P.A., where he was associate general counsel to Severn Savings Bank, FSB, a publicly traded financial institution.
Dave was selected by his peers as a “Rising Star” in the area of Real Estate Law, in Maryland Super Lawyers magazine for 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Dave earned a Masters in Real Estate Development from Georgetown University, a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, and a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the College of Charleston.
Ryan C. Day
Ryan C. Day is a co-founder of Katz Day, LLC. He practices in the area of real estate, representing developers, owners and equity investors in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, financings, joint ventures, development and construction and commercial leasing.
Before founding Katz Day, Ryan was a partner with the national law firm, LeClairRyan. While on LeClairRyan's Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights team, he regularly advised creditors and other parties in bankruptcy proceedings and creditors’ rights litigation in state and federal courts. Ryan was recognized by his peers as a “Rising Star” in Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights by Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and in Business Bankruptcy by Washington D.C. Super Lawyers Magazine in 2014 and 2015.
Prior to joining LeClairRyan, Ryan served as law clerk to Chief Judge Ross W. Krumm (Retired) of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Ryan earned his juris doctor from The George Washington University Law School, with Honors. He also holds a B.S. in Management Science and Statistics from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park.
